What is Seal Co-living?
Seal Co-living is a co-living brand operated by Seal Life co. We currently have 7 houses in Taipei: 3 in Xinyi District (Guangci House, Songlong House, CityHall House), 3 in Nangang District (Houshanpi House, Kunyang House, Songshan House) and 1 in Zhongzheng District (Gongguan House). Our motto is: "The house is rented, but your life is not. We look forward to writing a new chapter of life with you here."
To be clear up front: most of our rooms are shared rooms for two to six people (you rent a bed), and single rooms are only available in four of our houses.
How much will you pay in total each month?
Rent starts from NT$8,000 (≈ US$250) per bed per month (the base price for a lease of 12 months or more). Here are the room types at each house. Open a house's page to see the monthly rent of each room for each lease length:
| House | District | Room types |
|---|---|---|
| Guangci House | Xinyi District | Twin room, 3-bed room, and 4-bed room |
| Songlong House | Xinyi District | Twin room, 3-bed room, and 4-bed room |
| CityHall House | Xinyi District | 4-bed room |
| Houshanpi House | Nangang District | Single room, Twin room, 3-bed room, and 4-bed room |
| Kunyang House | Nangang District | Single room, 3-bed room, and 4-bed room |
| Songshan House | Nangang District | Single room, Twin room, and 3-bed room |
| Gongguan House | Zhongzheng District | Single room, 3-bed room, 4-bed room, and 6-bed room |
On top of the rent, there is a monthly utilities fee of NT$1,000. It covers water, electricity, gas and internet, plus shared supplies such as toilet paper, dish soap and rubbish bags, so you don't have to split bills every month. When you move in, you also pay a deposit (1 month of rent) and a one-time move-in fee of NT$1,500. Taking Songshan House as an example, here is the monthly rent of each room by lease length:
| Room | 30 days to under 6 months | 6 to under 12 months | 12 months or longer · Base price |
|---|---|---|---|
| A2-1 · Twin room | NT$10,500≈ US$325 | NT$10,000≈ US$310 | NT$9,500≈ US$295 |
| A1-1 · Single room | NT$15,000≈ US$465 | NT$14,500≈ US$450 | NT$14,000≈ US$435 |
| A2-3 · Twin room | NT$10,500≈ US$325 | NT$10,000≈ US$310 | NT$9,500≈ US$295 |
| A3 · 3-bed room | NT$9,800≈ US$305 | NT$9,300≈ US$290 | NT$8,800≈ US$275 |
At move-in, you pay the first month's rent, the first month's utilities fee, the deposit and the move-in fee. We list all of these costs on our website because we want you to be able to work out the numbers before your viewing.
Can you live here for just a few months?
Yes. The minimum lease is 30 days, and we only sign residential leases. Here is how the lease length affects the monthly rent:
| Lease length | Monthly rent per bed |
|---|---|
| 30 days to under 6 months | Base price + NT$1,000 |
| 6 to under 12 months | Base price + NT$500 |
| 12 months or longer | Base price |
Why 30 days? Article 4 of the Rental Housing Market Development and Regulation Act says that the Act does not apply to leases of less than 30 days1. Only residential leases of 30 days or more are covered by the Act's rules, such as the cap on the deposit (Article 7, up to 2 months) and the joint inspection and handover when you move out (Article 12).
Do you need to buy your own furniture?
No. Each room has air conditioning, a desk, a chair, a wardrobe, a bed frame, a mattress and a mattress protector. Every house has a kitchen where you can cook, a work area, a living room and a laundry balcony. Shared appliances include a fridge, a washing machine, a microwave, a water dispenser, a water heater, a TV and Wi-Fi. Houshanpi House and CityHall House also have a clothes dryer, and Gongguan House has a lift. Houshanpi House is 100 ping (a Taiwanese unit of floor area) in total and has two living rooms.
As for natural light, the rooms at Guangci House, CityHall House, Songshan House and Gongguan House are all listed with windows on our website, and several rooms at Houshanpi House are listed with windows too. At Songshan House, the 3-bed room and one of the twin rooms even have their own balcony. Just bring your luggage and bedding, and you can start living here.
Do housemates spend time together?
Our housemates have held barbecues, gone cycling at weekends, organised mountain climbs and hikes, and swapped gifts at Christmas. In September 2026, we also opened sign-ups for residents to join the "Seal Co-living BBQ Party".
Also, the viewing booking form asks about your daily habits, what time you usually go to sleep and a short self-introduction, so that we can get to know your daily routine before you move in.
Still abroad? Can you learn about the rooms first?
Yes. We can arrange an in-person viewing or a video viewing, and you can book a video viewing while you are still abroad (times are in Taiwan time). Send 「看房」 (Chinese for "viewing") or "viewing" to our official LINE account (add us on LINE), or use the online form to book a morning, afternoon or evening slot. In-person viewings start from a meeting point near the house, and you can see the location on the booking form.
To be honest: who we may not suit
- You must have your own room and your own bathroom: most of our rooms are shared rooms, and you share the bathroom and toilet with your housemates. If you need a single room, please look at these four houses first: Houshanpi House, Kunyang House, Songshan House and Gongguan House.
- You only need a place for less than 30 days: we only offer residential leases of 30 days or longer.
- You want to live alone without being disturbed at all: in co-living, the kitchen, living room and bathroom are shared by everyone.
If all of this works for you, take a look at the photos and room types of each house on our house list, then book a viewing. Seeing a place once tells you more than reading ten articles.
